Teens worry about homework, grades, friends and family obligations. These concerns, in addition to fears about safety, stability and the unknown, have resulted in even greater levels of anxiety and depression among adolescents, a news release stated.
Guest speaker Ferney Ramirez will help webinar participants learn how to address hopelessness, irritability, poor school performance and lack of motivation. He also will discuss the role emotional intelligence plays in a child’s lifelong success. Ramirez will offer guidance on how to respond to behaviors adults might not understand. He will discuss compassionate strategies for caregivers to foster the skills essential for every teen to lead a more fulfilling life.
Ramirez coordinates programs for families in Chicago and various Illinois school districts and is the author of 10 mental health publications. He is president of the Family First Organization and has extensive experience in clinical psychology, couples therapy and family counseling.
