Columnist George Will to lecture at Elmhurst University

ELMHURST – George Will, a political commentator, prolific author and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, will present a lecture titled “The Political Argument Today” March 9 at Elmhurst University.

His talk will be this year’s Rudolf G. Schade Lecture on History, Ethics and Law, a news release stated.

Will’s work appears in newspapers across 47 states and four countries. He is the author of numerous books on politics, political theory and baseball. His most recent is the New York Times bestseller titled “The Conservative Sensibility.”

His newspaper column has been syndicated by The Washington Post since 1974, and he won a Pulitzer Prize for commentary for his columns in 1977. Will also is widely known for his television commentary. He was a founding panelist on ABC television’s “This Week” and appeared regularly on that program for more than three decades. He has appeared regularly on Fox News programs, and currently is a contributor to MSNBC and NBC News.

Will is a highly regarded writer on baseball, and his 1991 book, “Men At Work: The Craft of Baseball,” topped the New York Times bestseller list for two months. The lifelong Chicago Cubs fan’s most recent book on the sport is 2014′s “A Nice Little Place on the North Side: Wrigley Field at One Hundred.”

The Schade lecture will begin at 7 p.m. March 9, in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel, 190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst. For directions, visit elmhurst.edu/campusmap.
