Interstate 39 northbound will be closed for 24 hours between Route 18 and Tonica

Interstate 39 northbound is expected to be closed for about 24 hours at milepost 43 between the Route 18 and Tonica exits beginning Friday night, said the Illinois State Police District 17.

Traffic will be diverted onto Route 18, travel northbound onto Route 251, and then allowed to re-enter Interstate 39 at North 20th Road at Tonica.

No reason for the closure was provided.
