Jammin at the Clock hosts spring fundraising concert; announces 2022 lineup

Noreen Stark will be the featured performer of spring show

Jammin’ at the Clock organizers Cinda Bond and Toni Pettit have planned their Steppin’ Into Spring concert Friday, April 8, at the Silver Fox, 122 N. Park St., as a fundraiser for the downtown Streator summer concert series.

Noreen Stark, one of the star vocalists of last year’s Motown band, is returning with powerful vocals and her bluesy, jazzy, rhythm and blues sound. Noreen performed the songs of Etta James, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin and others in previous shows. She is entertaining, engaging and gives a professional performance. An equally talented group of musicians will be accompanying her to Streator.

The Silver Fox opens at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Grant Street Grocery, 402 W. Grant St, and Lori’s Mailboxes, 1215 N. Bloomington St.

Jammin’ at the Clock is an annual summer concert series in Streator. Bond and Pettit have been organizing and providing free entertainment at Heritage Park (corner of Main and Monroe streets) since 2016. The concerts are free to the public but the entertainers are not. Bond and Pettit organize one or two fundraising events each year to support and pay for Jammin’ at the Clock. Some of the expenses include paying the musical talent, insurance and advertising costs. Organizers are thankful for the cash donations of the weekly audience while enjoying the music.

Entertainers come from as far away as Indiana, Chicago, Bloomington and include local La Salle County musicians.

Many businesses are supporting the summer concert series by posting the schedule at their locations. They include Grant Street Grocery, Bulldogs, Salvation Army, the Streator Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Our Town, and the future home of Little Chicago event center (formerly Hartes Gifts/Ritchie Building).
