American Red Cross of the Illinois River Valley names Brandon Campbell to board

Campbell currently serves as the police chief of Joliet College

The American Red Cross of the Illinois River Valley named Joliet Junior College Police Chief Brandon Campbell to its board of directors.

Board members are chosen based on their commitment to the Red Cross mission in combination with their expertise, experience and willingness to serve the needs of the board.

Campbell has more than 13 years of campus law enforcement experience and was most sworn in as the new police chief of Joliet Junior College in January.

His previous position was with the Indiana University Police Department South Bend Division as an executive lieutenant and acting chief.

Prior to working in South Bend, he was employed by the Indiana University Police Department Northwest Division where he held the rank of patrolman, detective, tactical team member, patrol sergeant, detective sergeant and lieutenant.

From 2013-2015, Campbell was on the FBI Violent Crimes Unit, where he served as a federal task force officer.

He has also spent time on the Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force, Lake County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Unit, and the Gary Police / Indiana University SWAT Team.

Campbell specializes in community engagement and student outreach on campus, working to improve communication with the police department.

“With Chief Campbell joining the board, I know that both the Red Cross and Joliet Junior College will continue high-level collaboration into the future,” said American Red Cross of the Illinois Valley Executive Director Brian McDaniel.

Campbell earned his bachelor of science degree in organizational Management from Calumet College of Saint Joseph and his Masters of Business Administration from Auburn University.

Aside from his work in law enforcement, Chief Campbell is the owner of Validus Solutions, LLC, a risk management and security consulting company that specializes in threat mitigation, active aggressor, and risk assessment for college campuses.
