TBM Avengers event cancels Saturday’s activities due to inclement weather

The coordinators of the TBM Avengers Reunion cancelled Saturday’s events because of rainy weather.

“The weather forecast just isn’t looking good and now they’re anticipating higher rain totals in our area,” said organizers on a TBM Avengers Reunion Facebook post.

The rain can cause issues making it almost impossible for planes to safely fly as well as make it difficult for visitors to deal with the grass parking lots.

Organizers do not anticipate the weather clearing up to fly this afternoon but mentioned anyone in the vicinity of the airport can still see the aircrafts on the ground.

This cancellation also includes the planned Salute to Veterans Parade. TBM Avengers thanked everyone for their continued support and shares in their possible disappointment.

The announcement was made around 8:30 a.m. Saturday to inform the public before too many people made the trip to Illinois Valley Airport in Peru.

Despite Saturday’s cancellation, TBM Avengers was able to host a variety of Friday Night activities including a beer garden, live music and nighttime air show performed by AeroShell Aerobatics Team.

Visitors Friday night were treated to a show in the sky that included lights, smoke and pyrotechnics.
