After seeking information on the theft of road signs, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it has recovered numerous signs from a residence in Varna.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office along with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the property Friday.
As a result of the warrant, a multitude of various street and road signs were recovered.
The matter has now been turned over to the Putnam and Marshall County state’s attorney’s offices for a review of charges.
Putnam County thanked members of the public for tips that led to the recovery of the county’s property.
The organization is continuing to take information regarding the signs reported stolen as it believes there are more individuals who may be in possession of them.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office notes being in possession of road signs is a crime and individuals may be punished for the possession.
