St. Bede rallies past Mendota; IVCC men roll to conference win

Andres Moreno poured in 32 points – including 27 in the second half – to surpass 1,000 career points and lead the DePue boys basketball team to a 70-50 victory over Leland in a Little Ten Conference game Tuesday in DePue.

Moreno also grabbed 13 rebounds.

Issac Yanez scored 13 points for the Little Giants, and Francisco Moreno added 10 points.

St. Bede 44, Mendota 41

The Bruins overcame a nine-point halftime deficit and outscored the Trojans, 16-9, in the fourth quarter to pull out a Three Rivers Conference East Division victory Tuesday in Peru.

Paul Hart led St. Bede with 14 points, while Duncan Lawler contributed 13.

Krew Bond paced the Trojans with 13 points, with Rafa Romero adding 11.

Earlville 57, LaMoille 26

Griffin Cook scored 22 points Tuesday to lead the Red Raiders to a Little Ten Conference victory Tuesday in LaMoille.

Bryar Keller had 12 points for Earlville (12-18, 5-5 LTC), while Garrett Cook added 11 points.

Joel Billhorn led the Lions (1-16, 1-8 LTC) with six points.

Henry-Senachwine 53, Woodland 42

The Mallards picked up a Tri-County Conference victory Tuesday in Henry.

Eureka 75, Fieldcrest 50

Ed Lorton scored 10 points Tuesday as the Knights lost a Heart of Illinois Conference game Tuesday in Eureka.

Koltin Kearfott chipped in eight points for Fieldcrest.

Roanoke-Benson 76, Putnam County 53

The Panthers fell in a Tri-County Conference game Tuesday in Roanoke.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

IVCC 83, Carl Sandburg 60

Four Eagles scored in double figures Tuesday as IVCC cruised to an Arrowhead Conference victory in Oglesby.

Braden Edington scored 23 points, Norman Haynes had 22 points, Reggie Loury contributed 16 points, and Dakota Deverteuil added 10 points for the Eagles.

Maddy Freeman scored 15 points Tuesday as the Eagles lost an Arrowhead Conference game in Oglesby. Taylor Quiram added 14 points for IVCC.
