Rivalry games are never easy for teams. Throw in eight missing La Salle-Peru players and a talented Ottawa team made quick work of its Interstate 8 rival in a 7-0 victory over the Cavaliers Monday.
Sycamore relentlessly attacked the La Salle-Peru net, but the shots that weren’t off the mark were being turned away by goalie Lily Higgins. But the Spartans put up three goals in the final eight minutes of the first half on the way to a 9-0 win.

L-P defeated Morris 1-0 in the Class 2A Regional semifinal game at the L-P Athletic Complex on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in La Salle. L-P will play Morton in the title game on Friday at 4:30p.m.
Ottawa defeated Depue/Hall 7-0 on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at King Field.
Although they controlled possession right from the opening kick, it took the Ottawa Pirates some 10 minutes and change early Thursday evening to put the ball in the back of the DePue/Hall net in an eventual 7-0 victory.
