Senior Morgan Foes brought the thunder for Princeton in Thursday’s Class 2A sectional, qualifying for state in the shot put and discus. Teammate Camryn Driscoll provided the lightning by qualifying in the 400 meters.
Sterling won the Class 2A Rochelle Sectional despite not having an individual champ, Mendota and Genoa-Kingston both had individual freshman champions, Sycamore had a surprise pole vault champ and Sandwich's Sunny Weber kept up her domination.
Teams from Amboy, Ashton-Franklin Center, DePue, Earlville, Erie-Prophetstown, Putnam County, Henry-Senachwine, Bureau Valley, Milledgeville, Morrison, Marquette, St. Bede, Indian Creek, Hall and Newman competed in the Class 1A girls track and field Sectional on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Bureau Valley High School.

Schools from Sherrard, Port Byron Riverdale, Erie-Prophetstown, Hall, Rockridge, Bureau Valley, Monmouth Roseville, Orion, Princeton, Sterling Newman, Kewanee and Mendota all competed in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference girls meet on Friday, May 3, 2024 in Mendota.
Area athletes competed in the Ferris Invitational boys and girls track and field meet on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Princeton High School.
