C230 in Ottawa informed its customers this past New Year’s Eve was likely the last for the downtown Ottawa restaurant — at least in its current form.

“Our new concept at a new location is something special, something different, something that is sure to blow you away,” said the post on the C230 Facebook page.

The post did not give a timeline as to when the restaurant will close and the new one will open. The post indicated there would be adequate time to use gift cards.

C230 opened in 2010 at 228-230 W. Madison St.

Downtown La Salle photographer closes studio, temporarily moves to Ottawa

At the end of 2021, Diane Kinzer, owner of Blue Truck Photography, closed her downtown La Salle studio at 139 Gooding St.

“I am in the process of building my dream studio here at my farm [in Utica],” Kinzer wrote on her business’s Facebook page.

In the meantime, she will be working out of Open Space Art Gallery & Studios, 223 W. Madison St., Ottawa.

Captain’s Cove closes for the winter early

Captain’s Cove Bar and Grill at Starved Rock Marina has closed early for the season.

The plan was to close at the end of January, but due to unforeseen circumstances the restaurant closed early, according to a Facebook post.

The waterfront restaurant is to reopen Friday, March 4.

Peoria TV station to feature Rip’s

WTVP Peoria will be visiting Rip’s Tavern in Ladd on Wednesday, Jan. 12, to shoot a segment for WTVP’s Backyard Journeys.

“The show highlights different locations in Illinois that are worth venturing to, and we are honored that Rip’s has been chosen as one of them,” said a Facebook post on Rip’s page.
