Three charged in La Salle drug raid

Bond set at $500,000 for each of them

La Salle police raided a suspected drug den Wednesday and now three people face felony drug charges.

Kasie E. Saunders, 48, of 437 Maple St., La Salle (also listed in Decatur), was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin and crack cocaine), one of them a Class 1 felony carrying 4-15 years in prison. Bond is set at $500,000.

Barbara A. King, 41, of 437 Maple St. (also listed at 1514 Zinc St.), La Salle, was picked up on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear (a previously-charged count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance) and charged with a new count of possession based on evidence seized in the Wednesday night raid. She also is being held on $500,000 bond.

Both were taken into custody inside the La Salle residence following the execution of a search warrant by multiple agencies including La Salle police and the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team.

A third person, 26-year-old Kaitlyn M. Forrest, also of 437 Maple St., was picked up on Bureau and La Salle County warrants alleging she conducted multiple heroin and crack cocaine deliveries in both jurisdictions. She was located walking south on Bucklin Street within an hour of the raid.

Forrest was handed over to Bureau County first. Friday, the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s Office said they filed a new charge of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), a Class 2 felony carrying 3-7 years. Bond is set at $500,000.
