The La Salle City Council approved bids Monday to improve 24th Street/Wenzel Road in a joint project with the city of Peru.

La Salle Mayor Jeff Grove said the project could take two to three months. The project is expected to wrap up by mid-summer.

The final cost of the project is expected to be about $800,000 for the city of La Salle. The overall bid from Advanced Asphalt of Princeton was $1,013,705 — as La Salle will be responsible for 75% of the project.

The city of Peru accepted the bid at its Feb. 28 meeting.
