Starved Rock State Park naturalists will be hosting a family story time, a fun craft and an activity on the second Saturday of each month December through March at the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center.
Carly Haywood, conservation education representative with a masters degree in zoology, will be reading a children’s book on bald eagles 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8. An eagle craft and a short walk to the sea wall along the Illinois River to spot bald eagles will be part of the activity.

The activity is deemed suitable for 3-10 year old children. Parents must stay with their children throughout the program.
Future programs include an animal tracks and signs program 9 a.m. Feb. 12; and a maple tree and maple syrupin’ program 9 a.m. March 12.
