IVCC online courses begin March 15

Most courses provide transferrable credit

Freshman NiNi Hoang, of Streator, is planning to transfer to Northern Illinois University after Illinois Valley Community College.

Online courses in nutrition, wellness, criminal justice, computer skills, English, history, algebra and statistics are among the second eight-week courses beginning Tuesday, March 15, at Illinois Valley Community College.

Classes include Introduction to Nutrition, Terminology of the Health Field, Criminal Investigation, Criminology, Ethics in Criminal Justice, Basic Computer Skills in the Workplace, Advanced Keyboarding/Document Formatting; English Composition I and II, African American History, Wellness, Personal and Community Health, College Algebra and General Elementary Statistics.

“Most of these courses provide credit that is transferrable to four-year institutions and the eight-week format has proven very desirable for students,” said IVCC Director of Learning Resources Patrice Hess.
