Comcast internet outages reported throughout northern Illinois, nationwide

Comcast customers in northern Illinois and around the country are reporting widespread internet, phone and cable service outages.

The outage appeared to to have started late Monday night in California, and appears to have started in Illinois appears a little before 7:30 a.m.

“Some customers are experiencing intermittent service interruptions as a result of a network issue,” Comcast said on Twitter about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday. “Our teams are actively working to bring impacted customers back online, as we continue to investigate. We apologize to those who have been affected.”

Those who have other providers continue to have internet access.

Comcast customers in northern Illinois and throughout the country have expressed their complaints on Twitter, including the inability to access customer service.
