About one inch of snow is expected from midnight to 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, into Wednesday, Dec. 18, affecting areas north of Interstate 80. Travel may be impacted, according to the National Weather Service.
Additional snowfall is expected from late Thursday, Dec. 19, into early Friday, Dec. 20, and again from late Friday, Dec. 20, into Saturday night, Dec. 21, according to the weather service.

Areas affected include McHenry, Kane, DuPage, La Salle, Cook, DeKalb, Will and Kankakee counties.
Accumulating snow is possible Thursday into Friday, affecting both the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes, according to the weather service.
