The 2022 race for Putnam County Sheriff was run by Joshua Boedigheimer (D) and Brian Gonet (R).
Aside from various federal and state races, voters also had their chance to shape countywide races including the contested Putnam County Sheriff and County Board races.
The early election day theme on Tuesday across Bureau and Putnam Counties, was that the polling places were staying busy with voters taking advantage of the last chance to have their voices heard.
A top priority if elected as Putnam County Sheriff for Brian Gonet: "I intend to instill our community-based approach to future deputies where we build relationships and understanding with the people we serve."
The Bureau County and Putnam County Clerks reported low turnouts for Tuesday’s General Primary, citing the upcoming Governor’s race for bringing out those who did choose to cast ballots.
