The Lake in the Hills Police Department said Tuesday night via the department’s Facebook page that an ATM technician was robbed by a group of men in ski masks while servicing a machine Tuesday evening.
Police were called just after 6 p.m. to the Bank of America branch at 240 N. Randall Road, Lake in the Hills. Investigators said several people wearing all black, ski masks and gloves arrived in a dark-colored, newer-model four-door sedan with tinted windows as the ATM was being serviced.
According to the FBI, no weapon was displayed or implied during the theft, and no physical injuries were reported. The suspects fled in an unknown direction on Randall Road in the sedan.
Officials did not reveal what amount of cash may have been taken in the theft.
