Huntley’s Noah Waters bowls perfect game in win over Marengo: Tuesday’s Northwest Herald sports roundup

Boys bowling

Huntley 4,078, Marengo 3,228: At Bowl-Hi Lanes in Huntley, Noah Waters bowled a perfect 300 in Game 1 as the Red Raiders improved to 10-0 in Fox Valley/Kishwaukee River Conference duals. Matthew Fishman paced Huntley with a 788 series and Austin Tenglin added a 710. Waters finished with a 692.

Hunter Pankow’s 624 led the Indians.

Woodstock co-op 3,530, Johnsburg 2,985: At Kingston Lanes in Woodstock, Max Haggerty recorded a 672 series to lead the Blue Streaks to the FVC/KRC victory over the Skyhawks. Sonny Marsalla added a 638 for Woodstock co-op.

Matt Kurek had a 595 for Johnsburg.

McHenry 3,554, Burlington Central 2,720: At Raymond’s Bowl in Johnsburg, Zach Readdy bowled a 650 series for the Warriors in their FVC/KRC win over the Rockets. Kahla Curfman wasn’t far behind with a 647. Payton Spratt tacked on a 577 series.

Nicholas Franco had a 527 series to lead Central.

Boys basketball

Marian Central 65, Schaumburg Christian 57: At Schaumburg, Finn Pivnicka poured in 40 points for the Hurricanes in their nonconference win. Derek Leitzen grabbed 17 rebounds.

Girls basketball

Crystal Lake Central 36, McHenry 17: At McHenry, Hadley Ferrero had a game-high 12 points to lift the Tigers past the Warriors in a Northern Illinois Holiday Classic semifinal. The Tigers advance to the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against Wauconda.

Peyton McMahon chipped in seven points for Central and Leah Spychala had six.

Maritza Martinez scored nine points for McHenry.

Marengo 55, Deerfield 37: At McHenry, Myah Broughton had 12 points for the Indians in the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic win. Maggie Hanson scored nine points and Emilie Polizzi and Dayna Carr each had eight.

Prairie Ridge 51, Woodstock North 31: At McHenry, Maia Cassin had 19 points for the Wolves in a Northern Illinois Holiday Classic win. Zoe Nanos tossed in 10 points.

Plano 56, Woodstock 42: At Woodstock, the Blue Streaks fell to the Reapers in their Kishwaukee River Conference game.

Sandwich 41, Richmond-Burton 22: At Richmond, Morgan Splitt had six points for the Rockets in a KRC loss to the Indians.

Girls bowling

Johnsburg 1,556, Harvard 1,475: At J’s Lanes in Harvard, Julia Erickson had a 467 series to lead the Skyhawks past the Hornets in their FVC/KRC dual. Andrea Platt led Harvard with a 415 series.
