An Oakwood Hills woman is accused of hitting an older relative and disturbing employees at the Crystal Lake TJ Maxx.
Malourdes E. Lorenzo, 44, was charged Monday with felony aggravated battery to a person over 60, as well as misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and disorderly conduct, according to to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court.
Prosecutors said in the complaint that that on Sunday morning, Lorenzo “struck [the woman] in the right side of her face with a closed fist in the entryway to TJ Maxx” that caused a red marking, according to the complaint. The complaint also alleges Lorenzo pushed the 72-year-old woman at the store, located at 5764 Northwest Highway.
The complaint also states Lorenzo was “purposefully walking behind a TJ Maxx employee and then began yelling and screaming in the store about others conspiring” against her “which alarmed and disturbed others.”
Assistant McHenry County State’s Attorney Anthony Marin requested that Judge Carl Metz deny pretrial release due to the “real and present threat to the safety” of a person or people.
The court is due to decide Tuesday whether Lorenzo will be detained, according to court documents.
