One person suffered serious injuries in a car crash Monday afternoon in Crystal Lake that closed parts of Route 14 for more than three hours.
A preliminary investigation found that a 2105 Honda Civic was traveling west on Route 14 from Sands Road near Route 31 when, “for an undetermined reason,” the car entered the eastbound lane and struck a 2007 Jeep Commander, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department news release.
One person was taken to a hospital with what police described as serious injuries. The release didn’t specify which car the injured driver came from.
The Crystal Lake police and the fire rescue department had responded to the call at 3:26 p.m. Monday. The crash resulted in the eastbound lanes of Route 14 to be closed to traffic for more than three hours.
