Frozen Gnome 50K, 10K races in Crystal Lake Jan. 11

Watch runners or participate in the Frozen Gnome 50K and 10K races starting at 7:45 a.m. Jan. 11 at Veteran Acres Park in Crystal Lake, located at 431 N. Walkup Ave.

The challenging triple black diamond-rated course will take runners through a winter wonderland at Veteran Acres and Sterne’s Woods. The single-track route is challenging and includes what’s known as “Butt Slide Hill.” Those up for the 50K challenge can run the 10K course five times.
