Woodstock High School and Creekside Middle School orchestra director Lyndra Bastian has been included in School Band and Orchestra magazine’s annual “50 Music Teachers Who Make a Difference” feature.
Bastian has taught in Woodstock School District 200 since 2013. The magazine, also known as or SBO+, honored for her innovative approach to music education and her commitment to creating meaningful, inclusive musical experiences for her students.
“When I was informed that I had been selected for this, I was both shocked and deeply grateful to those who felt I was worthy of being nominated,” Bastian said in a district news release.
She’s credited with creating opportunities for students to perform with renowned string groups and establishing the special education orchestra United Sound.
