A teenager and a child were taken to hospitals after a Thursday afternoon crash near Harvard.
Fire crews were called at about 4 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Route 14 and Streit Road for a two-vehicle crash with entrapment, Harvard Fire Protection District public information officer Alex Vucha said. When they arrived, firefighters found both vehicles had heavy damage and one had rolled over onto its roof.
All of the people in the two vehicles had either freed themselves or needed minor assistance to get out, Vucha said.
A teenager driving a sedan was transported to Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside in Rockford with moderate injuries, Vucha said.
A woman driving a small SUV, the car that rolled over, was evaluated by paramedics but she declined further treatment. Her child was transported to Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center–Harvard with moderate injuries.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
