Letter: Riverwoods development one of most important stories of 2024

In regards to your article on the biggest news stories of 2024, the one of most importance was “Woodstock Approves Riverwoods Development.” The Woodstock City Council along with the McHenry County Board dropped the ball in approving this development, despite strong environmental impact concerns that were presented. Once again it seems it’s all about the money.

Theodore Roosevelt said, “Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children’s children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.”
