Marengo girls basketball stays perfect in KRC: Wednesday’s Northwest Herald sports roundup

Marengo 52, Richmond-Burton 32: At Marengo, the Indians (10-6, 5-0 KRC) stayed perfect in the Kishwaukee River Conference with a win against the Rockets (4-13, 0-7).

Gabby Gieseke led Marengo with 16 points and two 3s. Mia Feidt added nine points and Emilie Polizzi chipped in seven.

Meadow Rosendahl had nine points to pace R-B. Lilly Kwapniewski had eight and Dani Mazzola added seven.

Johnsburg 53, Woodstock 42: At Johnsburg, freshmen twins Skye and Summer Toussaint scored 18 points apiece to lead the Skyhawks (11-7, 5-1) past the Blue Streaks (8-10, 3-4) in KRC action.

Summer Toussaint knocked down four 3s.

Plano 54, Harvard 27: At Plano, Ava Peceniak scored 10 points for the Hornets (9-9, 1-5) in a KRC loss to the Reapers, who have won 10 in a row. Jackie Silva had eight points in the loss.

Boys basketball

Crystal Lake South 63, Hampshire 48: At Crystal Lake, the Gators improved to 15-3 and 6-1 in the Fox Valley Conference with a win over the Whip-Purs. AJ Demirov had 25 points for South, Carson Trivellini had 11 and John Morgan added 10.

Ryan Prowicz (three 3s) and Sean Roth had 10 points apiece for Hampshire. Evan Wurtz had nine points and two 3s.

Jacobs 62, Crystal Lake Central 44: At Crystal Lake, the Golden Eagles coasted to an FVC win over the Tigers.

Boys wrestling

Grayslake Central Triangular: At Grayslake, Johnsburg went 2-0 with wins over Grayslake Central (36-34) and Highland Park (66-15).
