Dundee-Crown 70, Crystal Lake Central 41: At Carpentersville, Jared Russell made a school-record 11 3-pointers to lift the Chargers to a Fox Valley Conference victory over the Tigers.

Prairie Ridge 43, Huntley 42 (OT): At Crystal Lake, Ben Gablenz hit a buzzer-beater in overtime to lift the Wolves to an FVC win over the Red Raiders.

Christian Wilson had 10 points and six rebounds for Huntley, and Will Dillon and Casey Kaczmarski tossed in seven points apiece. Aidan Larson added six points and five rebounds.

Sandwich 52, Woodstock 50: At Sandwich, Max Beard scored 18 points to lead the Blue Streaks in a Kishwaukee River Conference win. Collin Greenlee added 15 points and Joey Nitz had 10 for Woodstock.

Plano 65, Johnsburg 60: At Plano, the Skyhawks fell to the Reapers in KRC play.

St. Edward 71, Marian Central Catholic 59: At Elgin, Logan Brandt scored 22 points as the Hurricanes fell to the Green Wave. Finn Pivnicka added 11 points for Marian.

Lakes 47, Woodstock North 37: At Lake Villa, the Thunder fell to the Eagles in a nonconference contest.

McHenry 58, Cary-Grove 45: At McHenry, Caleb Jett scored 23 points as the Warriors remained perfect in the FVC. Adam Bauer scored 20 points to lead C-G.

Crystal Lake South 64, Jacobs 54: At Crystal Lake, Carson Trivellini scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the the third quarter to lift the Gators over the Eagles in an FVC game. Aj Demirov added 21 points for South.

Emaan Thomas had 20 points and Ben Jurzak added 14 for Jacobs.

Girls basketball

Cary-Grove 66, McHenry 36: At McHenry, Ellie Mjaanes scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Trojans to an FVC win over the Warriors. Sam Skerl added 13 points for C-G (14-6, 8-1).

Lucy Jones scored 11 points to lead McHenry (2-17, 0-8).

Crystal Lake Central 51, Dundee-Crown 12: At Carpentersville, Ruby Macke scored 19 points to lead the Tigers (11-5, 4-3) in an FVC win. Katelyn Hallum added 13 points.

Huntley 70, Prairie Ridge 24: At Crystal Lake, Anna Campanelli scored 18 of her game-high 22 points in the first half as the undefeated Red Raiders (19-0, 8-0) rolled to an FVC win. Paula Strzlecki added 15 points and Madison Diaz had 10 for Huntley.

Zoe Nanos led Prairie Ridge (8-10, 4-4) with seven points.

Marengo 56, Harvard 24: At Marengo, Myah Broughton and Maggie Hanson scored 17 points each to lead the Indians (11-7, 6-0) in a KRC win against the Hornets.

Jackie Silva and Summer Jones scored six points apiece for Harvard (9-10, 1-6).

Girls wrestling

Batavia Invite: At Batavia, Huntley’s Aubrie Rohrbacher placed runner-up at 130 pounds and reached 100 career victories. Natalie Corona of McHenry was second at 140.

Hoffman Estates Hawk Invite: At Hoffman Estates, Dundee-Crown sits in sixth place as a team after Day 1. Diamond Rodriguez (105), Iris Torres (110), Ruby Gavina (135), Daniella Ibanez (145), Mackenzie Lessner (155) and Gladys Reyes (235) advanced for D-C.

Ruby Vences (110), Victoria Macias (115), Soraya Walikonis (130) and Ryann Miller (170) moved on for Burlington Central. Eva Hermansson (110), Danica LaTessa (120) and Brianna Crown (155) advanced for Woodstock.

Boys wrestling

Illini Classic: At New Lenox, Marian Central advanced a number of wrestlers into Saturday’s semifinals of the tournament. Austin Hagevold (113 pounds), Brayden Teunissen (120), Nick Marchese (126), Vance Williams (150), Jimmy Mastny (190) and Dan French (215) all moved on.

Geneseo Wrestling Invite: At Geneseo, Huntley sits in second in the team standings after Day 1 of competition. Cael Saldana (106), Colin Abordo (113), Cameron Abordo (120), Vlad Maluhin (144), Radic Dvorak (157), Dylan Cerny (190) and Wyatt Theobald (215) all advanced to Saturday’s semifinals.

Marengo 69, Harvard 12: At Marengo, the Indians prevailed in a KRC dual against the Hornets. Diego Romo, Owen Ostler, Logan Boley, Gavin Boorsma, Ryan Hess, Frankie Solis, Conner Sacco, Owen Bills, Caden Weirich, Gavin Prudlick, Shayne Kennedy-Gasior and Hayden Beebe all won for Marengo.

Brennan Peters and Damian Perez were winners for Harvard.
