Hampshire High School will host an ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) fundraiser during Friday night’s Fox Valley Conference girls and boys basketball doubleheader against Prairie Ridge.

Proceeds will benefit the Les Turner ALS Foundation, which works to fund research, raise awareness and support ALS patients and their families, the Hampshire High School Booster Club and the Trent family.

Ken Trent, a dedicated father and member of the community, is battling the disease. Ken’s daughter, Morgan, is a senior on the Whip-Purs basketball team.

The girls game starts at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m. Lower levels start at 4:30 p.m.

The fundraiser will include a raffle and auction prizes, including two Bulls floor seats, two Cubs tickets, golf foursomes and more.

“We invite the entire community to come together for an evening of sports, solidarity and support,” the Hampshire girls basketball program said in a press release. “Whether you’re a basketball fan, a community member or someone whose life has been affected by ALS, your participation makes a difference.

“Let’s show our love for the Trent family and make a powerful impact in the fight against ALS. Together, we can make a difference.”

If you unable to make it to the fundraiser and want to learn how you can contribute, contact or direct message “Hampshire Girls Basketball” on Facebook or Instagram.
