The McHenry County Historical Society and Museum in Union has announced its new operating hours for 2025. The museum is now open to visitors from from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
In addition to its new hours, the museum will be introducing new programs and events. For more information, look for the new programming guide, “McHistory: Where We Make History Come Alive!” It will detail all programs and events scheduled for this year.
The museum also announced it will host a membership drive, “Hot Chocolate and History” – a free event featuring a hot chocolate bar, scavenger hunt, mini tour and a chance to learn about local history – from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25.
The museum’s new executive director, Jolie Diepenhorst, said in a news release: “We are excited for the upcoming changes in 2025, and we hope to engage the people of McHenry County in new ways.”
The museum is located at 6422 Main St. in Union.
