The Woodstock Opera House will host an evening with meteorologist Reed Timmer at 7:30 pm. Friday, Jan. 24.
Timmer’s lifelong passion for atmospheric science has taken him across the globe to document blizzards, hurricanes, flash floods and tornadoes. His fascination with severe weather began during his freshman year at the University of Oklahoma, where he captured footage of the historic Moore EF5 tornado, according to a news release. Since then, he has dedicated his career to understanding and sharing the science behind nature’s most powerful storms.
Attendees of “Extreme Storm Chasing” will experience firsthand accounts, footage and insight into severe weather events.
Tickets are available online through the opera house’s official ticketing partner, Etix. For information, call the box office at 815-338-5300 or visit woodstockoperahouse.com.
