Although some were in the house at the time, no residents of a Lake in the Hills home were injured when a car crashed into it, leaving the vehicle mostly inside the home, officials said.
The driver of the car was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital with minor injuries, according to a news release from the Huntley Fire Protection District.
Firefighters were called about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of Ridge Court for the report of a crash and found the vehicle sticking out of the brick home’s wall. The male driver already had extricated himself from the car, according to the release.
Crews remained at the scene to oversee the car’s extrication from the house, according to the release. That work was coordinated with the Lake in the Hills Police Department, the village’s building and zoning department and a tow company. A board-up service was called in to secure the home until repairs can be made, officials said.
Lake in the Hills police are investigating the crash.
