A brush fire that broke out Wednesday morning on a Bull Valley property was extinguished within 30 minutes, officials report.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a call at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to the 200 block of Cold Springs Road in Bull Valley for a reported brush fire. Firefighters arrived to a driveway over 2,000 feet long leading to the property, “which posed initial challenges for access and water supply,” Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said in a news release.
Firefighters found a “brush fire covering approximately one to two acres, spreading rapidly due to strong winds,” Vucha said in the release. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes as firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevented potential damage to buildings on the property.
No injuries were reported, according to the release. Wonder Lake and McHenry Township fire protection districts assisted at the scene.
