A male driver suffered serious injuries in a crash that resulted in a car going off the road Wednesday afternoon near Woodstock, officials report.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a call at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday to the 14600 block of Washington Street for a reported car crash. First responders arrived to a two-vehicle crash with moderate damage.
“One vehicle was located in the roadway, while the other had come to rest in a ditch,” Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said in a news release.
One male driver suffered “serious injuries” and the other male driver suffered minor injuries, Vucha said in the release. Both drivers were the sole occupants of the cars and both were taken to local hospitals. A medical helicopter was intuitionally requested for one of the drivers, but the request was denied due to weather conditions, Vucha said.
The crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Vucha said in the release.
