Burlington Central, CL South, Jacobs advance to IHSA Competitive Dance State Finals

State finals scheduled for Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington

Sycamore Sectional: At Sycamore, Burlington Central (90.80) was runner-up and Crystal Lake South (84.50) was fourth in Class 2A to advance to next weekend’s IHSA Competitive Dance State Finals at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.

Geneva won the 2A sectional title with 92.03 points.

Crystal Lake Central (80.53) just missed the sixth and final qualifying spot, which went to Harlem with 80.57 points. Prairie Ridge (76.53) was ninth and Hampshire (65.17) was 14th.

In Class 1A, Woodstock (77.77) finished ninth and Johnsburg (69.57) took 15th. Montini was first with 87.93 points.

Libertyville Sectional: At Libertyville, Jacobs finished third in Class 3A with 88.57 points and was one of six teams to advance to the state finals. Barrington won with 94.07 points and Fremd (93.50) was second.

Huntley (ninth, 82.80), Dundee-Crown (11th, 77.10) and McHenry (12th, 76.37) did not advance.

Cary-Grove placed 10th in Class 2A with 76.47 points but did not qualify for next weekend’s state finals. Lake Zurich (89.50) took first.
