Letter: Disappointed in censures against Algonquin Township supervisor

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I’m writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding the eight censures issued against the Algonquin Township Supervisor Randy Funk. These eight censures can be obtained through the Algonquin Township FOIA officer.

As a resident of our community, I believe it’s important that our local government focus on progress and collaborative solutions. While I understand that disagreements may happen among elected officials, eight censures means something much more. These actions not only cast a shadow over Supervisor Funk’s ability to lead but also erode public trust in our township government.

Repeated censures send a message of dysfunction to the community and detract from the important work that needs to be done – whether that’s improving local services, addressing budget concerns, or ensuring transparency in decision-making.

We need leadership that unites us, not irresponsible actions that deepen divisions.
