Girls gymnastics
Stevenson Regional: At Lincolnshire, Prairie Ridge co-op’s Thea Scheuer won the all-around title as the Wolves captured the four-team regional championship with 143.675 points. Carmel placed runner-up with 140.75, followed by Mundelein (134.875) and Stevenson (134.75). The Wolves move on to the Mundelein Sectional on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Scheuer took first in the all-round with 37.35 points, beating Mundelein’s Lexie Ede (37.175). Nora Terhaar (36.7) was third and Bryleigh Cooper (35.875) was fifth in the all-around for Prairie Ridge co-op, which also draws athletes from Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake Central and Crystal Lake South.
Thea Scheuer finished first in the vault and uneven bars, was fourth in the floor exercise and tied for fifth in the balance beam. Nora Terhaar placed runner-up in the vault and tied teammate Tess Morton for second in the uneven bars. Terhaar also tied for second in the floor exercise. Cooper was second in the balance beam.
Girls basketball
Johnsburg 46, Plano 39: At Johnsburg, twins Summer and Skye Toussaint scored 13 points apiece as the Skyhawks knocked the Reapers out of first place in the Kishwaukee River Conference. Lauren McQuiston added eight points for Johnsburg (17-10, 6-3).
Richmond-Burton 60, Woodstock North 54: At Richmond, Meadow Rosendahl led the Rockets with 15 points in a KRC win over the Thunder. Lilly Kwapniewski scored 12 points as R-B (7-19, 1-10) won its first conference game of the season.
Jadyn Grismer led North (6-17, 3-8) with 16 points and Abby Ward had 14.
Harvest Christian 49, Marian Central Catholic 44: At Elgin, the Hurricanes dropped a nonconference contest to fall to 12-15 on the season.
Boys basketball
Crystal Lake South 75, Prairie Ridge 50: At Crystal Lake, Aj Demirov scored 24 points and dished out seven assists in a Fox Valley Conference win. Carson Trivellini added 12 points, Ryan Morgan finished with 11 and Tony Santarelli ended with 10 for South (22-4, 11-2).
Huntley 53, Crystal Lake Central 26: At Huntley, Noah Cook scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Red Raiders won the FVC game. Will Dillon added 12 points and Logan Darragh had 10 for Huntley (11-14, 6-7).
Rhett Ozment led Central (6-20, 1-12) with six points.
Dundee-Crown 49, Hampshire 35: At Hampshire, the Chargers (11-11, 5-8) beat the Whip-Purs in an FVC contest.
Marian Central Catholic 69, Schaumburg Christian 30: At Woodstock, Finn Pivnicka scored a game-high 26 points as the Hurricanes took the nonconference contest. Derek Leitzen added 15 points for Marian (10-18).
Girls bowling
Grant 2,488, McHenry 1,936: At Lake Villa, Emily Carpenter led the Warriors with a 548 series of 548 and a 205 high game as they fell to the Bulldogs in nonconference action.
