Richmond-Burton boys basketball team stays hot, beats Big Foot

Boys basketball

Richmond-Burton 62, Big Foot 43: At Richmond, Luke Robinson and Gavin Radmer each scored 19 points as the Rockets won the nonconference game.

It was the fourth win in a row and second in as many nights for R-B (17-7), which also received eight points from Dane Gardner and seven from Ben Roberts. Robinson and Radmer each made three 3-pointers.

Sandwich 68, Harvard 40: At Harvard, the Indians grabbed a one-game lead in the Kishwaukee River Conference with four games left for each KRC team.

Sandwich is 8-2 in the conference, while Woodstock, Johnsburg and Plano are all tied for second place at 7-3.

Harvard fell to 4-17 and 0-10 in the KRC with its eighth loss in a row.

Genoa-Kingston 69, Woodstock North 48: At Woodstock, the Cogs won the nonconference game as Nathan Kleba scored 27 points on a school-record nine 3-pointers.

North fell to 3-17 with its fourth loss in a row.

Girls basketball

Alden-Hebron 44, Woodlands Academy: At Lake Forest, Rileigh Gaddini scored 17 points to lead the Lady Giants to the nonconference win.

Hayden Smith added 14 for Alden-Hebron (5-16).

Boys swimming

Cary-Grove co-op 111, McHenry 55: At McHenry, Charlie Edwards and Ignas Venslauskas each won two individual events to lead the District 155 co-op.

D-155 opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.49) with Ignas Venslauskas, Kasparas Venslauskas, Matthew Herron and Victor Praczkowski. Edwards touched first in the 200 free (1:55.06) and 500 free (4:53.36). Ignas Venslauskas won the 100 fly (58.63) and 100 backstroke (1:00.29).

D-155’s other winners were Praczkowski in the 200 IM (2:12.62); Benjamin Nystrom in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.14); the 200 free relay (1:34.15) with Logan Kane, Matthew Herron, Ignas Venslauskas and Kasparas Venslauskas; and the 400 free relay (3:31.95) with Kasparas Venslauskas, Nathan Scerbac, Kane and Praczkowski.

McHenry’s Robbie Rosenbaum took first in the 50 free (22.82) and 100 free (48.89).
