Huntley boys basketball picked up its third win of the Wheaton Warrenville MLK Tournament by making its free throws down the stretch to beat Lockport, 46-42, on Monday in Wheaton.
Ben Ahmer and Oliwer Dzik shared the scoring lead for the Red Raiders with 12 points apiece.
North Boone 39, Harvard 34: At South Beloit, the Hornets suffered a South Beloit Tournament loss in low-scoring contest.
Lake Park 46, Hampshire 38: At Geneva, the Whip-Purs were handed a Geneva Tournament loss.
Adrien Ugochukwu had an excellent day in spite of the loss, putting up a game-high 21 points as he accounted for all 14 of the Whips’ points in the fourth quarter as they attempted a comeback.
Belvidere 62, Woodstock 56: At Belvidere, the Blue Streaks fell short despite 22 points from Caden Ogle.
Spencer Cullum added 12 points, and Jackson Lyons scored 10.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Richmond-Burton 31, Westlake Christian 25: At Grayslake, the Rockets picked up a solid win away from home, taking down Westlake Christian.
Lyndsay Regnier and Itziar Fernandez scored 11 points each for R-B (2-13, 0-1).
Marist 71, Marian Central 25: At Woodstock, the Hurricanes struggled at home against Marist in a one-sided affair.
No Hurricanes player had more than five points in the loss.

BOYS BOWLING
Vernon Hills Regional: At Bowlero, McHenry advanced to sectionals by placing third in Vernon Hills with a team score of 5,771.
Libertyville was regional champions with a total of 5,799, Grayslake Central was second at 5,795 and Vernon Hills also advanced, tying McHenry for third at 5,771. Woodstock finished 11th at 5,166. Freshman Noah Rodriguez advanced to sectionals as an individual, finishing sixth overall with a 1,214 series.
Sycamore Regional: At Sycamore, Huntley advanced to sectionals with a third-place finish and a score of 5,688.
St. Charles East were regional champions with 5,897 pins, South Elgin came second at 5,795, and Sycamore was the final qualifier at 5,565.
Matthew Racila led the Red Raiders with a 1,218 series, Hayes Porsche was just behind him with a 1,208, and Austin Tenglin came in at 1,117.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Woodstock 69, Elgin 38: At Elgin, Caden Ogle led the Blue Streaks in points and rebounds, with a 22 point, 11 board double-double in a decisive win.
The double-double was Ogle’s second in as many games, and Spencer Cullum added 13 points for Woodstock (7-8).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Whitney Young 49, Burlington Central 24: At Lombard, the Rockets had a tough day offensively at the Derril Kipp Hoopsfest hosted by Montini.
Taylor Charles was held to five points in the loss, but she still grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked four shots.
WRESTLING
Carmel quadrangular: At Mundelein, Prairie Ridge was 3-0 on the day – defeating Carmel, 48-23, Highland Park, 54-14, and Glenbard South, 41-35.
Tyler Evans (120), Mickey Meade (126), Eddie Ferree (160) and Jimmy Stone (170) each picked up wins in all three matches.
Batavia Invitational: At Batavia, McHenry came third at the 17-team tournament, led by championship wins from Chris Moore at 160 pounds and Brody Hallin at 170. Lucas Van Diepen and Pedro Jimenez each took third place at 120 and 126 pounds, respectively.
Marian Central took sixth place, Charlie Fitzgerald was tops at 120 pounds, and Nik Jimenez won at 145. Max Astacio (152) and Kaden Harmann (113) each took third in their respective brackets.
