High school softball: 20 area players named to Illinois Coaches Association All-State softball team

Huntley’s Bower, CL South’s Kuffel, Johnsburg’s Linkletter and R-B’s Klicker selected to 1st team

Huntley’s Briana Bower (Class 4A), Crystal Lake South’s Brooke Kuffel (3A), Johnsburg’s Kate Linkletter (2A) and Richmond-Burton’s Jesse Klicker (2A) were named to the Illinois Coaches Association’s All-State softball first team.

There were 20 players from the Northwest Herald area selected to the ICA All-State team, released Sunday.

Jacobs’ Delaney Garden and Huntley’s Katie Mitchell were named to the Class 4A second team. Huntley’s Reese Hunkins and Marley Reicher, Jacobs’ Sarah Lynch and Abbey Nesnidal and McHenry’s Kyra Lard and were named to the third team.

Crystal Lake South’s Alexis Pupillo, Hampshire’s Miki Snider and Prairie Ridge’s Nichole Kiddy were named to the 3A second team. Woodstock’s Kiley Ryan was named to the third team.

Johnsburg’s Brooke Klosowicz and Marengo’s Maddy Christopher were named to the 2A second team. Johnsburg’s Addison Mass, Marengo’s Jenna Turner and R-B’s Rachel Baker were named to the third team.
