Communications coordinator to become Lake in the Hills’ assistant village administrator

Ashley Eccles will take on the role of Lake in the Hills’ assistant village administrator starting March 28.

Eccles replaces Shannon Andrews, who was appointed the village’s new administrator earlier this month.

Eccles has over seven years of experience in municipal government functions and previously served as the Lake in the Hills Police Department’s communications coordinator.

In that role, Eccles managed the police department’s Community Relations Division and acts as the village’s public information director. She is the current accreditation supervisor for the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program and ensures the Police Department is compliant with all standards, policies and procedures.

Eccles also organizes community-based special events and relations programs for the police department. Programs she has managed include National Night Out, Ridin’ Right, Safety Camp, Trick-or-Treat at Safety Town, the Teen Safety Series, the Women’s Safety Series, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events training and more.
