Fox River Grove Police Department releases surveillance footage showing suspect entering vehicle

The Fox River Grove Police Department is seeking a potentially armed suspect in connection with a series of trespasses and burglaries to vehicles.

The police department on Tuesday released video surveillance footage of the suspect entering a seemingly unlocked vehicle, rummaging through it and leaving with what officers believe to be a handgun. The situation occurred early Sunday morning, according to time stamps on surveillance footage.

“The subject in this video is a suspect in multiple criminal trespasses to motor vehicles and burglaries to motor vehicles in [Fox River Grove] and the area,” the police department posted on Facebook Monday afternoon. “As you can see this suspect appears to armed with a handgun. We ask that no one confront these subjects and to call 911 instead. Please lock your vehicles and close your garage doors.”
