Prosecutors filed an attempted murder charge against a Marengo woman who in February was arrested and accused of stabbing a family member.
A McHenry County grand jury on March 11 indicted 42-year-old Kandis S. Rinn on a single count of attempted murder.
McHenry County sheriff’s deputies originally arrested Rinn on Feb. 20 in connection with domestic battery.
Rinn, of the 19000 block of Ridge Lane, was accused of using a knife to stab her adult son in the abdomen. The man was flown to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said at the time.
Rinn posted $7,500 bail March 2 and was freed on bond. She was out for three days, however, when police used a newly issued warrant to arrest Rinn on the attempted murder charge.
Rinn remained at the McHenry County Jail on Friday on a $250,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 26, at which point she could enter a plea on the most recent charge.
