The Huntley Police Department arrested one person for drunken driving and issued seven tickets during a recent Thanksgiving enforcement effort.
The mobilization ran Nov. 19 and 29 and was funded through federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to a news release.
These extra patrols resulted in two tickets for speeding, one for expired registration, three for disobeying a traffic control device and one for operating an uninsured vehicle, according to the release.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in the crackdown, which seeks to discourage drunk driving and encourage buckling up.
Extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, according to the release.
