Man who died in Huntley crash identified

Julian M. Torres, 27, of Carpentersville, suffered ‘multiple injuries,’ resulting in his death, coroner’s office says

Julian M. Torres, 27, of Carpentersville, was identified as the person who died after a vehicle accident Monday in Huntley.

The Kane County’s Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy Wednesday on Torres, according to a news release. The preliminary cause of death was “multiple injuries.”

Toxicology samples were collected at the autopsy and sent to a forensic laboratory.

The crash happened the 1999 Acura TL sedan Torres was driving collided with the 2016 GMC Sierra at the intersection of Route 47 and Regency Parkway early Monday morning, authorities have said.

The Acura, which had been driving north, crossed the median for an unknown reason and spun around once in the southbound lane, Huntley Deputy Police Chief Mike Klunk said Monday.

The crash caused investigators to close all lanes between Kreutzer Road and Regency Parkway for most of the morning.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office is working with the Huntley Police Department in their ongoing investigation of this crash, according to the release.

According to Torres’ obituary, which listed him as being from Crystal Lake, arrangements have been entrusted to Willow Funeral Home in Algonquin.
