Crystal Lake-based Community High School District 155 hires new chief officer of finance and operations

New hire is currently chief financial officer for Prairie Grove School District 46

Crystal Lake-based Community High School District 155′s board approved a new chief officer of finance and operations at its meeting Tuesday evening.

Kevin Werner, currently the chief financial officer for Prairie Grove School District 46, will start in his new position on July 1, replacing Jeremy Davis. Davis is set to become the assistant superintendent of finance and operations at North Shore School District 112.

Werner’s salary, of $162,500, was approved at Tuesday’s board meeting.

Superintendent Steve Olson said in a statement that the District 155 believes Werner has the experience and work ethic to successfully uphold the district’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and excellence.

“He brings a unique background and comprehensive skill set to the role and has showcased his dedication to this community throughout his time in education,” Olson said in the statement.

Werner has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting, health care and financial service, with the last nine years in the education field, according to a news release. He also was previously the chief financial officer for Crystal Lake Elementary School District 47, as well as District 46.

Werner has a bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and a master’s degree in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He also recently earned a doctorate in education from Aurora University and his chief school business official licensure from Northern Illinois University.

“District 155 has earned a reputation for offering their students a truly invaluable education. I am looking forward to building upon the first-rate facilities, resources, and educational assets that the district provides to its students, staff, and stakeholders while maintaining financial integrity within our community,” Werner said in the statement.
