Hebron police car struck in collision at routes 47 and 173

All parties involved, including officers, taken to McHenry hospital with minor injuries

An unmarked Hebron police squad car was involved in a crash at routes 47 and 173 Sunday evening, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office official said.

The incident caused minor injuries for two police officers and a 64-year-old Richmond woman who was driving the 2007 Mercury Mountaineer that collided with the white police vehicle, said Sgt. Aimee Knop with the sheriff’s office.

They were all taken to the Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.

The crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, and no citations have been issued, Knop said.

The Mercury was traveling east on Route 173 and the Hebron police car, a 2010 Ford Crown Vic, was traveling south on Route 47 at the time of the crash, she said.
