Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills donates to three animal rescues

Money raised from the beer tents tip jars at Rockin’ Rotary Ribfest and Sunset Fest by the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills went to three area animal rescues, the organization said.

The funds totaling $3,400 were donated to Hoof, Woof and Meow; On Angels Wings; and Bark of an Angel at a mixer Sept. 9 with the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce at the Jackie Gappa Agency, 2112 W. Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills, according to a news release.

The event was attended by members of each animal rescue as well as Chamber and Rotary members, according to the release.

Each year the club selects an organization or organizations based on needs, and this year the animal rescues “were in great need of donations as their funding has been impacted over the past year, yet the amount of animals they rescue have increased,” the Rotary Club of Lake in the Hills said in the release.
