Lake in the Hills cancels Frightful Friday trick-or-treat event

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is hosting its 18th annual trick-or-treat event 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at its Safety Town behind the Irv Floress Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road.

Lake in the Hills Police Department’s Frightful Friday trick-or-treat event planned for Friday was canceled due to the weather, the police department said Friday morning.

“The weather (Friday) is not cooperating for us to be able to host our friendly monsters, ghosts and ghouls today for trick-or-treating at Safety Town,” the Lake in the Hills Police Department said. “We are unable to safely host the event indoors due to the pandemic. We regrettably are going to cancel our Frightful Friday event.”
