New sushi eatery to open in Crystal Lake

A new all-you-can-eat sushi bar, Sushi U, is set to open Feb. 5 or 6 at 5899 Northwest Highway, Unit A, Crystal Lake.

Owner Linda Lee said this is the third independent restaurant she and her husband will have.

They also own Kai Sushi, at 2829 S. Highland Ave., Lombard, another Japanese restaurant, and House of Pho, 1004 Golf Road, Hoffman Estates, a Vietnamese restaurant, Lee said.

“We are focused on all you can eat,” Lee said. “We love the location in Crystal Lake. There’s not many around it in that kind of style.”

“It’s an exciting addition,” Community Development Manager Heather Maieritsch said of Sushi U. “It’s dine-in all-you-can-eat sushi, but they will have a variety – sashimi, hibachi, ramen bowls and teriyaki dishes. If you like raw fish or prefer it cooked, they cater to both.”
